PADDINGTON

SYDNEY

A modern house which takes best advantage of a long, narrow Victorian foundation. The site has a slope from front to the rear lane of over 3m. The volume made available by the slope was used for a double garage, the roof of which forms an elevated terrace. This forms the main outdoor living space with both privacy and outlook.

As the internal width of the house could only be 3.6m, the design compensates for this in the other two dimensions, length and height.
