NAREMBURN

SYDNEY

This project consists of a new contemporary pavilion at the rear juxtaposed against the complete Federation architecture of the original house. A small linking pavilion separates the original pitched tiled roof from the contemporary sawtooth form of the addition and forms a transition zone, accommodating a Study/Library, Guest Bathroom and Laundry.

Rectangular in plan, the new addition has a steel frame structure; the roof form allows sunlight to penetrate while giving a heightened sense of volume internally. The south rear wall of the house is entirely openable to the garden for entertaining via bifolding doors.
